Who we are

Hello there. You’ve stumbled upon Jared and Kayla’s website about living a life as DINK’s (dual income, no kids) in the Midwest. This site focuses on our efforts to make the most of our unbound life through travel, local dates and expanding our skills around the home, in the kitchen and behind the bar.

Our travels include a little bit of everything but for the most part we have focused on adventure and learning about the world around us. Within this site, you’ll read about our experiences traversing trails in national parks, sampling the local fare, soaking in history by visiting landmarks and of course ending our days with a great cocktail.

Back home, we’ve spent time as residents on both the Kansas and the Missouri side of the state line inside the Kansas City Metro area. We’re firm believers that both sides of the state line contribute to making the Kansas City area what it is today. From eventful date nights, seeing a show or visiting a gallery in the Crossroads to visiting farmers markets like the one in Overland Park, there’s never a shortage of ways to take advantage.

Lastly, we greatly value quiet evenings at home. We currently reside in Roeland Park and are within walking distance to many fantastic small businesses on Johnson Drive. We’re striving to find betterment through attempting new recipes, perfecting our cocktail game and becoming more self sufficient with maintaining and improving our home.
