Top Kansas City Wine Bars
We love wine. For a Midwest city, it is not always easy to find good wine bars to try out wines you can’t find in your local liquor store. However, we’ve found a few places throughout the city that hit the mark when we are craving a glass of vino and a cool atmosphere. For visitors, these spots have some cool vibes to sit to relax in between trips to the various museums, parks and sporting events.
Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen
Offering wine flights, tasters, by the glass or bottle this wine bar serves up a variety of sparkling, rose, white and red wines. They have an excellent happy hour for wines by the glass. Make sure to come with an appetite to experience a nice date night dinner.
Vintner
With around 100 curated bottles selected from all over the world, this little shop is a gem. You can buy bottles to take home or stay and sample some of the wines with wine flights or by the glass. We love the ambiance and knowledgeable staff.
Le Champion
This spot in Westport took over an old favorite wine bar of ours, Ca va. Le Champion had large shoes to fill, but is doing the space justice. The intimate space retains it’s old charm and the small courtyard is great spot to sip on a drink on a nice day. Le Champion has a smaller wine and cocktail list, but we have enjoyed all the glasses we’ve ordered. They also serve up some amazing small plates in the evenings and delicious coffee and breakfast in the mornings.
Vita’s Place
Vita’s Place is a quaint little bar nestled in the Brookside neighborhood. They have a wonderful selection of wines for every wine lover’s palate or classic cocktails for the cocktail enthusiast. We love their delightful, sharable, small plates menu to round out our visits.
Amigoni Urban Winery
For the wine connoisseur looking to sample the local flavors head down to the West Bottoms to Amigoni Urban Winery. This family-run winery creates locally-made wine from grapes produces on the West Coast. You’ll find a focus on European grape varietals and a wealth of options. You can do a wine tasting in their tasting room for just $15 - be sure to make a reservation!
