Kansas City Asian
Noka
If you are looking for some Asian for a fancy date night, you should head to Noka. Noka is a Japanese restaurant with a stylish, dark interior that features a wide selection of sushi and other Japanese fare. Their menu is diverse and you will want to try it all. We recommend the Duck Fried Rice but make sure you leave enough room for their sushi.
Chewology
Chewology focuses on Taiwanese street food and excels at creating a fun dining environment. Their menu features a variety of small plates including bao buns, dumplings, rice, and noodles. We recommend trying a little of everything and sharing with the group.
KC Craft Ramen
You’ll likely be surprised at how good the ramen is at this suburb strip center restaurant. This restaurant is located 20-30 minutes south of the city in Overland Park, but is worth the trip in our opinion. Snag a spot on the online waitlist and order the KC buns, KC Red ramen or Spicy Miso ramen.
Anjin
A new addition to the Kansas City dining scene, Anjin has been nominated for the best new restaurant award by the James Beard Foundation. This is a small, intimate Japanese bar and dining experience. The menu is small as well, but that’s just because they focus on the quality of the dishes they serve.
Muni
You can’t quite call this place Asian fare. Described as Mexican-Thai fusion, this spot doesn’t really fit into a specific box. Located in the River Market, they serve interesting, good food. The Kow Soi Beef is a standout.
