Kansas City Italian

Gorgonzola carbonara from Osteria Il Centro in Kansas City

We’ll be honest. Italian is one of our favorite cuisines to get on a nice date night out. Kansas City has a wealth of options that satisfy our cravings and which makes for a difficult choice.

Farina

Kayla’s favorite restaurant in the city. This Italian spot is known for their oyster bar, but their entire menu is spot on. They have their standard pasta dishes, but also feature a rotating seasonal pasta selection. Start with the Parmesan Clam Toast and definitely get whatever agnolotti dish is out for the season, but really you can’t go wrong. They also serve up Jared’s favorite Negroni in the city.

Zero Zero

What started out as a small food market selling fresh pastas has turned into a highly sought after dinner reservation. Seriously, you will need to get on top of reservations as soon as they drop if you want to dine here. It’s a very small space with a limited menu, but it is worth scoring seats for.

Lazia

Nestled in the lobby of the Crossroads Hotel, you will find Lazia. The atmosphere is lively and beautifully designed with chandeliers and intimate seating. Their menu often changes seasonally and we’ve never been disappointed with our meals.

Osteria Il Centro

Located just south of the Plaza is Osteria Il Centro. It is an intimate space with a very old-school Italian vibe with dark woods and dim lighting. You will not leave hungry here. The food leans more American-Italian with large portions and heavier sauces and will hit the spot after a long day exploring the city.
